Mountaineer Area Geocaching Persons of Interest

After being bitten by the loss of so many of my released trackables I've made the decision to keep any non-duplicate geocoins that I have instead of releasing them. That way if people are into discovering them they are welcome to and I get to spare myself of the anger of my coins coming up missing. Wanting to be able to transport the coins around when I know I'll see other cachers (i.e., events) that may want to discover them I've been trying to come up with a convenient storage system that allowed for display.

I went to Office Depot and picked up some of the baseball card binder pages and a small plastic binder. Put the coins in and then slapped some tape over the holes to (hopefully) keep the coins from coming out. It seems like it might work okay, but I'm not sold on it. Does anyone have a better system?

Go to any convenient craft store/section (Wallmart will work) and look for some thin foam sheets that are about 2'x2' by 1/8" thick. Cut said sheets so they will fit in the card slots. Trace the coin onto the sheet and then cut out the shape. Now you can insert the coin into the foam and then into the card sheet. A piece of tape or some such may be needed for heavier coins. The foam can also be use to put your more valuable coins of normal thickness into hard plastic baseball card sleeve.

I use coin albums obtained from a local coin shop.

Speaking of which ... does anyone want to buy a geocoin collection?

Does this mean at some point we will get tired of geocoins and not want them taking up space anymore?

Doubt it. Probably more fatigue by some (like me). The market just became so saturated with designs that just aren't that interesting. Mine have been out of site and out of mind long enough for me to realize it's time to sell them.
