What happens to

Coins and tb's that are checked into event caches but are never checked out I see this all the time archived events that still have them showing there

Basically they are just MIA.

That really bites it would seam like it should be up to who ever holds the event to put them back out

It's not the event holders who have the TBs.
A lot of TBs get picked up by cachers who might forget that they picked it up. I've known people who forget it was in their glove compartment!
Or they might be new to the game and really don't know what to do with a TB/geocoin.

It always bites when a tb or coin goes MIA. One of my caches was muggled and had a tb in it. Nothing I could do about it, but still felt guilty.
