sMAGPI's 5th Annual Meat & Greet

Postby scubadude18 on Tue Jun 05, 2012 7:58 pm

It's time for the 5th Annual sMAGPI (southern Mountaineer Area Geocaching Persons of Interest) Meat & Greet.
The event will be Saturday, August 25, 2012 at kanawha state park in Charleston. We'll be firing up the grills, eating, playing games and swapping lies from noon 'till dark. There is camping in the park, No caches in the park to be found! Please note that no alcohol is permitted in the park.
We will supply more burgers and dogs than you can shake a stick at, as well as the various accouterments. You should bring yourselves and drinks for your family, as well as a pot luck side or dessert to share! We'll probably eat round one o'clock-ish but there should be plenty of food for stragglers and the chronically late.
We'd appreciate it if you could RSVP with a "will attend" log and let us know how many will be attending & what you'll be bringing so we can accurately anticipate how much meat we need to provide. 5th Annual sMAGPI. Have a question or Would like to help let us know.

I have the paper products left over from Coopers Rock. I'll bring these:
Dinner plates
Plastic silverware
Napkins
Cups
Tablecloths
Trash bags
Anatomy (n): something everyone has, but which looks better on a girl.

Life would be so much easier if we could just look at the source code.

FYI: The area of Coonskin Park where we gather is still closed due to storm damage. Anybody in charge hear from the park about our spot? As of right now, the road is closed where it intersects with the main park road.

Scubadude is the cachet who is hosting the event this year. I do not know if the park has reached out to him. It most certainly should since he paid to reserve that area.

Turns out I will not be able to attend this year.
But I will see about getting the paper products down there somehow.

oh and also, Coonskin is still closed as BotanyCreek pointed out.

Scubadude is working to find a new location for the event.

Keep your fingers crossed.

sMAGPI's 5th Annual Meat & Greet will be held at Shelter #6 in the Kanawha State Forest. I'd link to a map, but it is a .pdf file and so that's not gonna cut it.

It's not isolated like Day Camp is, but there are real working toilets very nearby as well as parking. So you know, take what we can get at this point. We may have to cut out the ammo can toss, but won't know until I can actually see the area.

Scubadude18 will be getting the coords and updating the cache page accordingly.
