GW XIII
(Yes, I know it's a year away. Leave me alone.)

2 questions:
Who is planning on going?
Where does everyone plan on staying?

Dragging the camper over I'd say. And yes, intend to attend.

We're going.

Hoping that Purple Monkey Dishwasher & family will meet us there.

For all those interested parties.

Are you going to Geowoodstock next year? Wvcoalcat and I are talking about going up on Thursday and staying until Sunday. We were wondering where other cachers are planning on staying.

I quickly checked Google maps for local motels around the area. (For those who don't know it yet, Geowoodstock will be held 10-15 minutes north of Sharpsburg, MD/Antietam National Battlefield, on Route 65, on Memorial Day weekend.)

These are just a few of the areas with motels/inns/b&bs:
Shepherdstown
Martinsburg
Around the I-70/I-81 interchange area
Hagerstown
And there is also camping at:
Greenbrier State Park
South Mountain State Park (I think)

Also, HERE is a listing of hotel/motels that have special rates.

Where are you staying?

I am going and was hoping to share a room with another area cacher to defray costs. I will probably meet up with some old Pa cachers from back east too. This is my first Woodstock... I have Friday through Sunday off.

Not sure when we are going over. Have to wait and see what the office vacation calendar looks like.

We may end up staying with PMD & family or camping (in a tent). That will depend on the weather. If it is going to be hotter than the surface of the sun, I don't think sidekick & I will be camping (in a tent).

Sidekick & I have stayed at the Thomas Shephard Inn which is a B&B. If you are going that route, I highly recommend it.

Likely going over Thursday evening - and camping seems to be our norm now. Haven't scoped out potential locations as yet.

I will be there and plan to share a room with iheartmarshall. Where is everyone staying? It will be more fun if we stay in the same hotel (unlike GW IX).

wvcoalcat and I are staying at the Comfort Suites on 1801 Dual Hwy. Just north of I-70 15 minutes from the event.

I just tried making reservations for Geowoodstock. No room in the INN. Comfort Inn full, Comfort Suites full, Grand something or other the guy in charge is off. Marriott cost $139. per night.
This does not look very promising.
