Fall MAGPI event?

Postby wvhunter on Wed Apr 20, 2016 7:44 am

All righty then,

The unspeakable has happened again. Brace yourselves and hold on to your hats.
I.HAVE.BEEN.THINKING!
(Dreadful and scary isn't it?)

I noticed that MAGPI has three annual events:
Winter - Snowmaggedon
Spring - MAGPI Open
Summer - Coopers Rock
(Ah one, ah two, ah three, ah, ah ,ah)

BUT, we don't have a Fall event.
So I was wondering if any brave soul/s wanted to fill the void.

This thread is for anyone to submit any ideas they might have for a possibly recurring fall event. I was thinking the beginning of October. (Still warm enough and we can schedule around any WVU football games.)

I'll add any suggestions to the survey for anyone to vote on.
I've even started with a couple possibilities.

PS. You may change your vote as many times as you like.

Other possibilities:

Chestnut Ridge Park at that nice little pavilion by the lake

Sky Rock - isn't there a pavilion there? Plus they have disc golf

Morris Park - lots of caches, nice park, disc golf

Tygart Lake State Park

p.s. I'm not volunteering, I'm just throwing out some place suggestions

Life would be so much easier if we could just look at the source code.

Idea :
A meal & mountain hike...maybe portion of the Weston-Gauley Turnpike trail ?
or put out new caches around StoneWall Jackson trails ?
Just thinking about fall leave colors and where we could take advantage of it.

Both good suggestions. Perhaps wvhunter your Fall event could be a C.A.C.A. themed event that moves around each year.

If Groundspeak still allows that type of event. I'll have to check into that.
