Call for Cachers - 5/31/14 - GC20J20

Postby Spotty Spotty Pony Girl on Tue May 06, 2014 3:47 pm

During the long, cold, dark, horrible winter I had plenty of time to b!tch & complain about being stuck in the house. I also had plenty of time to browse GC.com and find some caches that I "thought" would be a great idea to go after once Summer returned and graced us with some sunshine and tolerable temperatures.

And so I'm looking for some foolhearty souls to accompany me.

This cache is located South of Glady, which is to say in the middle of nowhere. It's by SenecaRocks. It's called On All Fours (Almost) GC20J20 and I'm sure it is going to be one wicked adventure. You may interpret that however you wish.

It was published 11/2/2009 and found twice. Yes TWICE. Both in November 2009. So for you folks who like to hunt caches that time has forgotten, here you go. Yougart logged the round trip to be around 6 miles.

Yes, there's a possiblity that it will be just awful. Yes there's a possiblity that someone (not me, I'm not allowed) will need to bring & use a machete.

Details regarding meeting locations & time will be hashed out closer to the date.

Don't everybody rush to sign up at once! Form a nice orderly queue.

Of course, I'll go. No surprise that I'm in the front of the line to do something that could very well turn into something stupid.

And for those not aware, that's the cacher. Not the geological formation. It's actually not very close at all to Seneca Rocks.

Yay!

Besides, even if we fail, we will have an epic tale to tell.

I'm off this weekend so I'm a definite maybe. I need to get some hiking and sights in since I'm now a day-walker.

Just bumping this thread. Gentleman-Carpenter has thrown in his lot with us. So for now we have a definitive YES from the Maxwell Run Four and then tentative Yeses from 3_dogs & Colecops.

Still working on logistics of departure time and vehicles. And part of that will be determined by the final round of participants.

alrighty, carry on then.

I see where it has been found on the 17th. At least we know it's there and we won't be walking 3 miles for nothing. I'm more than likely going, and I'm trying to talk the other half into going since he is more into these types of caches.

We will be leaving Morgantown around 8 am to head to parking for the cache. Figure on that taking 2 hours.

Depending on how long that takes and how we feel, we'll explore the possibility of grabbing other caches and then eat.

Take lots of water & snacks. Supposed to be a hot one tomorrow.
