Lock & Locks

Postby IanMelFitz on Tue Aug 18, 2009 12:58 pm

Is there anywhere in north central WV that one can buy these? I've found plenty online, but no local retailers seem to have them. I've found the Rubbermaid and Sterilite versions in the stores, but unlike Lock & Locks we haven't found any of the Rubbermaid and Sterilite ones in the wild.

On a side note we bought a couple of the Sterilite branded lock & lock knockoffs last night, so we may try them out and see how weather resistant they are.

I've noticed recently that Wally-World in Morgantown didn't have any. Not sure if they don't carry them any more or were just out of stock. I've picked up most of mine at the K-Mart in Morgantown. I actually got an assortment from them a while back that had several different sizes. I need to stop by there for some stuff tonight, so I'll look to see if they still have them.

I have seen the Sterlite brand a time or two and they just weren't holding up as well as the "real" Lock & Locks (tm). The only place I've seen a problem with the Lock & Locks is in the Mojave Desert where the heat caused the latches to break prematurely and on West Run where an animal chewed off one of the latches of my Gas Guzzler stage before the cache even got published!

  • I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

  • I love deadlines. I especially like the whooshing sound they make when they go flying by.

The kitchen store at the Meadobrook mall usually has them.

Giant eagle on greenbag road in Morgantown carries lock n locks. Several sizes.

Thanks everyone! We never thought about the kitchen store at the mall, and since Mel works in Motown I'll send her on a recon mission up there.

Yeah, Walmart seems to have ditched the Lock & Locks in favor of the Rubbermaid and Sterlite versions. I was rather annoyed one day when I went by there to pick up a couple to find none...

We could go directly to the source:
Lock & Lock Storage
Think they'll give use a discount for a massive bulk order?
Anatomy (n): something everyone has, but which looks better on a girl.

Life would be so much easier if we could just look at the source code.

Do you really think we could organize something like that? Heck, even working out dinner once a month is strenuous ...

That is crazy!!! WOW!

FYI, I used to get Lock n Locks at the Corningware outlet store in Flatwoods, but I stopped in there 2 weeks ago and - like everyone else who previously carried the brand - switched up and started carrying a different brand name of locking plastic canisters.

Giant Eagle in Morgantown still carries them. As does - hit or miss - Gabes of all places.

There appears to be a severe shortage of Lock and Locks here in Northwest Ohio too. Everybody that used to have them has switched to cheaper containers. I did hear that Pennys still has them.
