Congratulations SSPG. My friend GrapevineEER completed the counties last week as well.

It was nearing dark - picked up Picturesque at like 8:30 pm....had to be in Bluefield so we scurried back up the new highway. But it will remain on the list.

I still have 5 counties left. I may try to pick up a couple enroute to the coopers rock event.

You guys will enjoy the final location of the DeLorme Challenge as well...except for the fact that the container can be a booger to find. Congratulations again.

The final is an awesome location. I was afraid there wouldn't be any water flowing since it's been so dry but there was still a good amount going over. You could hear it from the Forest Service road. Here's how it looked Saturday:

Great pic. Glad to see some flow. Mid-day shots in the sun are really hard to do with long exposures, well done. Did you see any fishermen? Believe it or not I have never caught a fish in that pool. I have a waterfall jinx I guess.

Also glad to know that the container is still there after its first year. It has been a long time since the last finder. My friend GrapevineEER finished the counties about a month ago, but hasn't made it up to the final yet. I will probably go with him and will change the address cards in the container to reflect my new address then. There was on out of state team that finished the counties last year, but they haven't yet returned to finish it. I suspect there will be a few more finders before this year is over.

There were two fishermen there. They seemed somewhat taken aback to see us hanging out on the rocks.

We could also see fish swimming. The one fisherman said he was only catching small stuff.

I picked up a 8X neutral density filter just for shooting waterfalls. It's awesome! I had the camera's exposure set to -2 and the filter. I was shooting as long as 15 seconds. The posted picture was a 3 second exposure.

Sweet, I hafta get one of those! I often use a polarizing filter - not necessarily always for glare, but just to cut a little bit of the light out.

Here are a couple of my pics from that stream...
