Cool Swag & View on GCE89F

Postby wvangler on Tue Oct 28, 2008 9:02 am

Did the New Montgomery Overlook Cache last week. Found inside: an mp3 player, several cd's & DVD's, Playstation 2 games, an old atari game and other neat swag. I even swapped an old Ryne Sandberg (Cubs) figure I'd had since I was a kid. The view is killer too. I wouldn't necessarily rate this a 4 star terrain, but I suppose nightwatcher54 was taking WV's obesity level into consideration  It can be a butt kicker depending on fitness level.

that is an impressive swag list.

I'm usually just happy if there is a functioning pen along with the log book.

Very generous swag! Got any pics of the view?

Give it time, though. It'll be reduced to a poker chip or wooden nickel, one die, an eraser, a broken toy necklace, leaves and dirt before long.

Don't know why folks won't trade even or trade up. If you can't then DON'T trade at all.

No pics. Well, not really. I did snap one with my cell phone camera if that counts. I haven't emailed the photo from my phone to my pc yet though to share. Every time I take my DSLR out caching I end up at dumb lpc's and e.g.g.'s. Every time I'm at a good view I forget it. I made it a point to throw one of my old pointenshewt digitals in my caching backpack though....but I'm sure at some point I'll scarf the batteries for my GPSr and end up with no camera again.

wow, that sounds familiar. especially since the "big camera" has it's own backpack which I despise. it was raises my profile when I'm trying to scramble under brush and wiggle through a thorn field.

my poor battered small digital just had a recent run of bad luck when it landed face first in some gravel. Just fine for low light pics still  just add a new one to the ever expanding wish list

Been a lot of years since I've seen that place! I can see my dorm, the engineering building and the Bear's Den where I spent countless hours honing my foosball skills.

  • I love deadlines. I especially like the whooshing sound they make when they go flying by.
