mygeocachingprofile.com issues?

Postby wvhunter1968 on Fri Jun 01, 2012 6:45 am

Ever since getting into geocaching I've loved to keep track of my jasper and other assorted stats on this web sight. In the last few days it just disappeared. Has it gone away and will I be forced to pay another sight for what I once got for free? Also I really love the USA county maps option which I didn't see on the other sights, unless Im missing something?

Didn't Groundspeak buy them out? Or was that some other stats page?

  • I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

  • I love deadlines. I especially like the whooshing sound they make when they go flying by.

A quick search of my profile reveals none of the jasmer, county map and a plethora of other info I've been keeping tabs on.

GSAK and the FindStatGen macro (and a plethora of assorted add-ons) - I just updated my data and uploaded to my geocaching.com profile. Covers a bunch of what you're missing. Plus some truly weird stats.

There are hundreds of MACROS wow!!! Do I have to do a download for each one? This is really confusing.

Step 1: Calm down.
Step 2: search the macro lists to see what information you want to cull. Download said macros
Step 3: Block out 4 - 5 hours to discuss the magic of GSAK & macros with pbump. He is the guru.

Start by creating at least three databases. And if you screw 'em up, doesn't matter. You can recreate about anything. Need a database for OWNED, a database for FOUND and one for CRAP I'M STILL HUNTING FOR...
Filters are your friends.
Macros are your super special friends.

FindStatGen is the baby that makes the pretty stats pages. Badgegen makes the badge portion. There's lots of add-ons that make various "stuff" in between. But all by itself, FindStatGen does a ton.

When you run it, it will display the output. From your browser, just "display source", then cut-copy-paste that source into your profile page.

Pbump.....Thank you for the the starter lesson. I don't quite know what you are talking about but trying hard. It usually takes a while to unlock the confusion to me, so this is nothing new here. General terms like "create database" is still foreign to me and I think I need a basic primer on. Right now I have all kinds of caches I have no clue how they got in there from Arizona I think, along with a bunch of caches from this area from my home location out about 20 miles. How I delete these and start a new with "my finds" pocket query is another story. Thats what Im trying to figure out now.
